A joint effort between Paprican, Bowater, and EKA Chemicals resulted in the first successful commercial implementation of neutral sulphite deinking. This novel process not only significantly decreases the use of chemicals but also reduces the generation of harmful microstickies. Neutral sulphite deinking operaes in Paprican Member Companies mills, resulting in significant cost savings.
