CALIBRATION SERVICES
Calibration of Canadian Standard Freeness TestersFPinnovations has the only ISO Standardizing Laboratory in the world for the calibration of the Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF) tester. In our ISO-accredited testing laboratory, we repair, recalibrate, and certify used CSF testers and provide an inspection certificate. To ensure that our customers are not left without capabilities for freeness testing, we provide them with a calibrated tester on-loan during the repair and recalibration period.
Other calibration services that we provide include inspection and rescreening of grid plates, and inspection of drying plates and rings.
Over 150 participants use our monitor programs to identify problems with testing equipment and methodology, and to help ensure consistent and reliable results. They are an integral part of the quality assurance program of participating mills. The bleached kraft pulp, mechanical pulp, and paperboard monitor programs are provided three times a year. Our paper monitor program operates on a quarterly basis and uses a variety of paper products, including newsprint, fine paper, and groundwood specialties.
All of our monitor programs are offered in Canada and the United States, as well as in any other country outside the North American continent.
Bleached Pulp Monitor Program
Alternates between softwood and hardwood bleached kraft pulps
Data include Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF), caliper, burst, tear, and tensile at various PFI beating levels
Mechanical Pulp Monitor Program
Uses mechanical pulp furnish
Data include CSF, Somerville and Pulmac rejects, Bauer-McNett fractions, caliper, burst, tear, and tensile
Paper Monitor Program
Uses newsprint, fine paper, and groundwood specialties
Data include caliper, burst, tear, tensile, optical properties, Parker Print-Surf (PPS), and Sheffield roughness
Paperboard Monitor Program
